The federal Carrier Safety Administration has launched an educational site for both drivers and fleet safety managers aimed at correcting common driver behaviors that can result in accidents. Preventative clips and real-world video clips are included. See the full story below for the web address.
Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) has put together an educational website which provides valuable information for both drivers and fleet safety managers responsible for driver training programs.
The site explores common driver behaviors that can result in accidents, supported by preventative tips and real-world video clips on each type of error.
The video clips (of 25- to 30-second duration) were recorded in a naturalistic (open roadway, non-test track) driving study conducted by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI).
Clips also show examples of driver errors that can help commercial vehicle drivers avoid dangerous situations. And as a training exercise, each video clip is followed by a set of questions to help encourage viewers to think about and examine the driver’s behavior.
