A new trailer dome lamp from Phillips Industries promises more light and a wider angle spread of illumination, according to the company. The Permalite XB trailer dome lamp offers a 175-degree angle range of light, which allows pallet documents in both the nose and rear of the trailer to be equally easily read. The product is available for new trailers and as retrofit for existing ones.
Phillips Industries’ new Permalite XB trailer dome lamp offers up to twice the light output of competitive lamps, the maker said. The lamp’s 175-degree angle light spread offers more lit area inside the trailer so pallet documents in the nose of the trailer are as easy to read as the pallet documents in the back, Phillips added.Even though the Permalite XB gives off bright, diffused light, it only draws 1.8 amps at 12V DC. According to Phillips, the universal mounting holes and 1-in. thin design make it suitable for nearly any trailer application. The lens and housing are made of unbreakable polycarbonate material designed for temperature ranges from -40 deg F to +140 deg F. The lamp is available for new trailers and to retrofit existing trailers.
