Drivers running out of time to voice concerns over lack of truck parking

Posted on 17 December 2009 by Rhonda Flathman

A Transport Canada survey soliciting drivers’ feedback on the availability of adequate truck parking needs more responses, or else the resultss will send the wrong message. Fewer than 1,000 surveys have been completed, yet, according to the Owner-Operators’ Business Association of Canada (OBAC), every day 250,000 trucks search for parking for 10 hours out of every 24. That’s the concern of Joanne Ritchie, executive director of the Owner-Operators’ Business Association of Canada (OBAC).
