The for-hire carrier UPS continues to get greener. In its latest eco-friendly move, the company deployed 245 delivery trucks powered by compressed natural gas to Denver and four cities in California. The use of the vehicles is part of the carrier’s continued effort to reduce its carbon footprint. Each of the trucks are marked with CNG decals, and they are expected to yield a 15 percent reduction in emissions.

UPS Inc. said it has deployed 245 new delivery trucks powered by compressed natural gas to cities in Colorado and California.

The company said 140 new CNG-fueled trucks have been deployed over the past month to Denver and more to four cities in California, including 59 to West Los Angeles.

The vehicles are part of UPS’s continued effort to reduce its emissions from the use of fossil fuels like gasoline and diesel and lower its carbon footprint, the company said in a statement.
