Meritor WABCO’s ride-n-drive reaches fleets and dealers

Posted on 09 June 2010 by Rhonda Flathman

Meritor WABCO is taking its commitment to safety to the streets, offering demonstrations of its latest safety technologies to fleet managers and supervisors, owner-operators, and truck and trailer dealers. Its Roll Stability Support system, RSSplus, is specifically for trailers. The system works by monitoring trailer wheel speed, lateral acceleration and suspension pressure. If the vehicle approaches the rollover threshold, RSSplus automatically applies the trailer brakes to stabilize it and bring it under control.

Meritor WABCO Vehicle Control Systems continues its series of ride-n-drive vehicle demonstrations across the country, displaying a series of progressive active Safety Systems technologies that are currently available. The sessions are open for managers and supervisors of fleets of all sizes, owner-operators, and truck and trailer dealers.

The following Meritor WABCO active Safety Systems technologies will be available to experience first-hand on demonstration vehicles: SmartTrac Stability Control System; OnGuard Collision Safety Systems; Roll Stability Support; and Telematics.
