Grote’s MicroNova Dot lasts longer and offers dual intensity

Grote Industries’ new line of clearance/marker lamps offer extended life and greater intensity, while also being a more eco-friendly choice. The company’s new Micronova Dot series is available for use in a number of applications and has been engineered to resist wear and tear that can degrade LED lamps caused by the effects of negative transients. Available in red, amber and white, Micronova Dot lamps can be used as a clearance or marker lamp, but not simultaneously, and require no mounting fasteners.

Grote Says Micronova Dot Lamp Series a More Robust LED Choice

Grote Industries said its new MicroNova Dot is a family of clearance/marker lamps with dual intensity capabilities that are specifically designed to resist the dimming that is common in other penny-sized LED lamps.

According to the company, vehicle wiring systems carry negative transients as a byproduct of their interaction with motors, relays and solenoids. Over time, exposure to negative transients has been demonstrated to degrade LEDs, diminishing their light output and viability in the process. All Grote LED lamps are designed with a rectifier diode that protects its LEDs from the effects of negative transients, according to the maker.

Truck-Lite has multi-faceted training for CSA compliance

Truck-Lite has announced the availability of a number of tools to assist fleets and drivers with CSA compliance when it comes to vehicle lighting. In the next couple of weeks, the company will be releasing training materials, a website dedicated to answering compliance-related questions and a roadside repair kit. In addition to these tools, Truck-Lite is encouraging customers to upgrade to its lifetime LED products for their longer reliability and
dependability, making pre-trip inspections of lighting mandatory, and carrying a roadside repair kit to address problems.

Grote introduces CSA Roadside Lighting Repair kit

In an attempt to help reduce maintenance costs and occurrence of CSA violations, Grote Industries is introducing a new portable Roadside Lighting Repair Kit, which contains 23 of the most practical, commonly used lighting components. Potentially saving time and dollars, now roadside repairs can be made in the field and get the vehicle to the nearest service center if more work is required. In addition to the 23 most used parts, the kit also includes a selection of zip tie fasteners to help stabilize any field repair. There’s even room to add a selection of additional parts and tools. Grote’s kit also provides an inventory sheet with part numbers and color images that will help keep track of content usage and replenishment.

Grote Industries said its new portable Roadside Lighting Repair Kit is a solution to the problem of unpredictable lighting and wiring failures that occur in the field. The kit contains 23 of the most practical, commonly used, mission-critical lighting components found in today’s commercial vehicles and has everything a driver needs to make a first-class field repair and make it back to the hub or to the nearest service center––without a roadside service call, without an error and without an incident, the maker said.

Grote noted that it could be hours before a vehicle is back on the road, especially if a roadside service call is required to correct a problem.

New Skirt-Lite from J.V.R. Safe-T-Signal

The growing number of trailers equipped with side skirts has led J.V.R. Safe-T Signal, Inc., to introduce a compatible version of its wide turn signals for these applications. The new Skirt-Lite warning signal has been designed to meet all requirements for trailers with side skirts, with the signals mounting flat against the aerodynamic device using fasteners compatible with the existing harness. The LED lamp is angled to the rear of the unit and does not exceed the legal width of the trailer (-.200 under size), according to the company. Skirt-Lite is offered in right or left styles and is made of galvanized stainless steel or aluminum.

Grote aims motion-activated dome lamp at reefers

Another product from Grote’s WhiteLight product line, the 61F61 Motion-Activated Dome Lamp, is intended for refrigerated trailer applications. Designed to withstand 100 percent humidity – a common challenge – this motion-activated LED dome light uses a rugged, sealed sensor. No on/off switch, thanks to the motion activation, offers further protection from the elements. Using an infrared motion sensor, the light comes on when it detects human movement within 6 feet and continues to shine for three minutes after the last sensed motion. The energy-efficient lamp is also designed to extend a vehicle’s battery life.

Grote Industries is now shipping its 61F61 Infrared Motion-Activated Dome Lamp to customers. The 61F61 is a motion-activated LED dome lamp from the company’s WhiteLight product line and is particularly well-suited for refrigerated trailer and body applications.

A new coil cord product from Grote Industries promises to exceed expectations of strength, durability and corrosion resistance in its performance. Ultra-Link-Coil-Cords are manufactured with extremely durable materials, including advanced polymer jackets, which are designed to perform flawlessly between 55 degrees below zero to over 190 degrees F, and solid brass terminals, which are corrosion resistant, according to the company.

Optically engineered LED WhiteLight Hook-Up Lamp from Grote

Grote Industries’ newest lamp should shed more light on work spaces and environments common to utility trucks, fifth wheels, forklifts and off-road vehicles, to name a few. The market’s first purpose-built Hook-Up lamp, according to the company, features an advanced optical design that focuses brighter, more usable LED light across a work space. The 12-volt lamp, which can replace two incandescent lamps, is rated for 50,000 hours of service, emits less heat than incandescent lamps and draws significantly lower amperage than incandescent offerings, reducing the load on a vehicles’ electrical system.

Innovative Optical Design Provides More Light, Reduces Energy

Grote Industries, a maker of high-performance LED lighting technology for the transportation industry, released the market’s first purpose-built Hook-Up Lamp, the company said.

According to the company, before now, one or two incandescent hook-up lamps were often mounted on the rear of the cab to illuminate the work area between a tractor and trailer. Traditional hook-up lamps employ primitive optics that often cause a bright spot at the center of the beam pattern with usable light rapidly diminishing as the beam spreads.

Peterson expands Tunnel Light line

Peterson Manufacturing’s expanded line of LED lights now include an accessory light for trucks and trailers. The Tunnel Light, so named for the 3-D tunnel effect it creates, are designed to illuminate and beautify features such as stainless steel air cleaners, bumpers, door panels and running boards. When the lights are on, they’re like looking into lighted tunnels of infinite depth. When they’re off, they take on a sleek, mirrored-chrome look, according to the company.

Tunnel Lights Create 3D Effect

Peterson Manufacturing has expanded its LED line of Tunnel Lights with the new 274 Series, a 2-in. round, grommet-mounted accessory light for trucks and trailers. It joins the company’s 179 Series, whose unique optics first introduced the stunning 3D tunnel effect that led to its name. The two models feature an operating range of 8-16 volts and are available in both amber and red LED versions. Designed for accessory or off-road use only, they offer striking ways to illuminate and beautify such features as stainless steel air cleaners, headache racks, bumpers, door panels and running boards, Peterson said.

The 179 oval model surface mounts on 4-in. centers using #10 screws. The new 274 round model fits standard 2-in. rubber grommets. Both series come with 0.180 bullets that can be removed for hard-wire connection to vehicle harnesses. The non-polarized design allows connection of the hot wire to either lead. According to Peterson, the Tunnel Lights are eye-grabbers whether lighted or not. When the lights are on, they’re like looking into lighted tunnels of infinite depth. When they’re off, they take on a sleek, mirrored-chrome look.

Phillips Industries debuts Permalite XB trailer dome lamp

A new trailer dome lamp from Phillips Industries promises more light and a wider angle spread of illumination, according to the company. The Permalite XB trailer dome lamp offers a 175-degree angle range of light, which allows pallet documents in both the nose and rear of the trailer to be equally easily read. The product is available for new trailers and as retrofit for existing ones.

New Dome Light Expands Lit Area in Trailer

Phillips Industries’ new Permalite XB trailer dome lamp offers up to twice the light output of competitive lamps, the maker said. The lamp’s 175-degree angle light spread offers more lit area inside the trailer so pallet documents in the nose of the trailer are as easy to read as the pallet documents in the back, Phillips added.

Even though the Permalite XB gives off bright, diffused light, it only draws 1.8 amps at 12V DC. According to Phillips, the universal mounting holes and 1-in. thin design make it suitable for nearly any trailer application. The lens and housing are made of unbreakable polycarbonate material designed for temperature ranges from -40 deg F to +140 deg F. The lamp is available for new trailers and to retrofit existing trailers.

Lighting the flexible way

Called the most innovative lighting technology since the first LED marker lamp was introduced more than 20 years ago, Grote’s new LightForm marker lamp is thinner than a penny and is mounted on self-adhesive flexible strips that can be bent, twisted and cut to size. Making its debut on its first commercial application later this year, the application for interior and exterior lighting can produce red, amber, green and blue light. A white light version is under development.

Grote's Innovative LightForm Technology Available for Interior, Exterior Lighting

A new solid-state light technology from Grote Industries is thinner than a penny and is mounted on self-adhesive flexible strips that can be bent, twisted and even cut to size. Called LightForm, the proprietary technology will see its first commercial application as a P2 marker lamp before the end of the year, according to Dominic Grote, vp-sales and marketing.

Grote introduced the industry’s first LED marker lamp at the Mid-America Trucking Show 20 years ago. LightForm is the “most radically innovative lighting product to come along” since that introduction, he said.

Using 98% less material than a standard LED marker light and measuring only 1-mm thick, the marker is being called “a light stamp” because of its extremely light weight and profile, and because it can be affixed with peel-and-stick tape. Cost “will be competitive with standard LEDs,” according to Grote.

The marker application is just the first for the technology that Grote said “will change the shape, design and application of interior and exterior vehicle lighting in ways we haven’t even begun to imagine.” According to the company, LightForm can produce red, amber, green and blue light; a white-light version is under development.
